Stoneleigh Flambella wins Supreme Champion at the NZ Royal Show at Waikato (2nd largest alpaca show in New Zealand)
We took a small team to this show, as once again this show is up in the North Island of New Zealand. Stoneleigh Flambella is a 4 year old female who just consistently produces a stunning fleece every year. The Judges awarded Flambella the Supreme after looking right down through her legs to see her carrying highly aligned bundles well down through these areas.
We also won at this show in breed:- Champion Junior Female, Reserve Champion Junior Male, Champion Senior Female, Champion Senior Male (a half owner) and Champion White of Show. In fleeces we won: 2 Reserves Championships.

Val Fullerlove from the UK judges Canterbury 2011 and awards Silver-Stone Ice Master ET (half owner) Overall Supreme Champion of Show (huacaya supreme judged against suri supreme). Silver-Stone Ice Master ET won the same award in 2010 with Natasha Clark A grade Judge from Australia. Also at Canterbury Stoneleigh Flambella was awarded Overall Champion Female, she also won this award in 2010.
We also won in breed:- Champion Junior Female, Champion Junior Male, Reserve Champion Adult Female, Champion Senior Female, Champion Senior Male, Champion White/Light Fawn, Overall Champion Female, Overall Champion Male, Best Breeders Team of Show and Supreme Champion.
Fleeces:- 2 Reserves Champions and a Championship
Val also mentioned while judging for the Supreme how much she loved our Champion Junior Female (Stoneleigh Flambelli) and our Champion Junior Male (Stoneleigh Discovery). She said that both there juniors will have their day in the future.

Stoneleigh Alpaca Stud traveled for two days to get to the largest National in the history of New Zealand. Sixteen breeders from the South Island drove or sent up by truck animals to exhibit at this exciting event in the North Island of New Zealand. The record numbers for breed were 467 alpacas and fleeces 181.
We exhibited over three days and came away with in breed:-Supreme Champion, Reserve Champion Junior Female, Champion Junior Male, Champion Intermediate Male, Champion Adult Male, Champion Senior Female & Champion White Huacaya.

It has been a very successful year in the show ring in halter/breed classes as well as fleece classes. After showing our first fleece in 2009 and winning National Supreme Fleece for New Zealand, we decided to show some more fleeces, and we are thrilled with the results – including many Championships and a Supreme Championship.
